Comet -2010 Photo Collage (triptych)
“Comet”
You have a memory of a blurry image of a comet on the front page of the paper named Hale Bopp after two sky watchers
Hale Bopp hang love in the sky, gathering its essence in a slot between two brick buildings near Green Lake
You watch the comet in it blurriness its like nothing else you’ve seen, except the rare full moon through a snow storm”
My “dream” space is actually very similar to that of the SPACE gallery but In an Ideal world it would not only be larger but the artist’s whose work is on displayed would be encouraged to sell their work while it was hanging. I would promote this space via social media and through cross promoting at other venues. It would also be mandatory for the artist whose work would be up to promote not only their own work and the space it was in but to promote the whole collaboration.
Cinematic Space, to me, is a space that is not limited in size or substance (meaning it can either be 2D or 3D) that a narrative can take place in. The narrative, however does not necessarily need to be super straight forward though. It may leave enough holes that the viewer is forced to bring in their own version of a narrative to the piece.
Photo Documentation of “Who Said The Prints Go On The Wall?”
My freshman independent project for Core Studio Concepts.
The video that stood out to me the most was Jazzmin’s dubstep music video. While I am not a huge dubstep fan I appreciated how the artist managed to make a video of mostly interview footage and montaged it together to make something artistic and easy to watch. By using different filters and camera angles the artist made something that, content wise, was not very interesting seem more appealing to the viewer.
The Blanket Show.

The Blanket Show consisted of multiple drawings on blankets. All were framed and hung individually. The drawings were of blankets as they existed in a draped state ie: on the floor, draped over an object, etc. They were all very brilliantly colored and highly detailed.
What I enjoyed most about the show was how simple, yet complicated it was. Simple because of the subject matter but complicated because of the extreme detail that was found in each drawing. The artist managed to make drawings of textiles look almost 3D and as if the blanket its self was hanging on the wall.
The cupcakes were awesome too… just a little pricey.
